Press Release on August 2014 Bar Final Examinations
The result of the August 2014 Bar Final Examinations, as approved by the Board of Studies of the Council of Legal Education was released on the School Website: www.nigerianlawschool.edu.ng and the Portal: www.mynlsp.com on Tuesday October 14, 2014. The breakdown of the result is as follows:
A: Total Number of regular candidates (students of the 2013/2014 Academic Year) – 5841
- 1st Class Honours – 4 (0.07%) (Abuja Campus – 2, Lagos Campus – 1 and Yenagoa Campus – 1)
- 2nd Class (Upper Division) – 96 (1.64%)
- 2nd Class (Lower Division) – 620 (10.61%)
- Pass – 2610 (44.68%)
- Conditional Pass (i.e. Reference in one subject) – 501 (8.58%)
- Fail – 1932 (33.08%
- Percentage outright Pass – (57.01%)
B: Total Number of Re-sit candidates – 1335
- Pass – 88
- Conditional Pass – 26
- Fail – 1168
Any candidate may apply for a review in accordance with extant rules of the Council of Legal Education.
PERFORMANCE OF RE-SIT CANDIDATES
In view of the poor performance of re-sit candidates at the August 2014 examinations, the Board of Studies of the Council of Legal Education has directed that henceforth, re-sit candidates are to attend at least eight (8) weeks compulsory revision classes at the Nigerian Law School. No re-sit candidate shall be allowed at the Bar Final examinations until he/she has undergone the stipulated revision classes. Details of the next re-sit examinations will be announced shortly.
